William Michael Tandy, PhD
William Michael Tandy, PhD, 70 of Boise Idaho passed away in the early hours of January 13, 2019 surrounded by his family in his home.
As a psychologist, Dr Tandy founded Treasure Valley Psychology, which has continued to serve the greater Boise area. He served this community by teaching about grace, and providing patients the tools to live life at peace.
Dr Tandy had a gift. His patients would remark that they felt heard and that “he got it”. He made the effort to meet them wherever they were in life. He focused on self- worth, and their strengths in the face of adversity. He guided clients to find courage to face their challenges, improve their quality of life, and maximize their success.
When away from the office, he spent his time with his wife Kari, family, and friends in God’s glorious outdoors. He loved hiking, backpacking, fishing, exploring, whitewater rafting, skiing, the smell of the pines and the sound of the wind through the trees. He delighted in sharing knowledge of the wilderness with others and seeing the awe in their faces as they spent time together in the great outdoors.
Michael is survived by his wife Kari Moore Tandy of 19 years, daughter Shalla Tandy (Stephen) Braswell, grandsons Stephen Jonathan (Katelyn) Braswell and William Rice (Hannah) Braswell and granddaughter Madyson Braswell (Chip) Henderson, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and aunts and uncles.
He is preceded in death by his parents William Albert and Louise Tandy and son William Jonathan Tandy.
Special thanks to Karl Schultheiss and the St Alphonsus Cancer Care Team for years of being at our side in the battle against cancer and giving him the opportunity for many more grand adventures and to WISH GRANTERS OF IDAHO for one last special adventure, to visit family across the country during the final month of his life.
Memorial services will be held Sunday January 20, 2019 at 2:00pm at River Valley Church 1115 N Garden St Boise, ID 83706.
