Wayne Douglas Slaughter, 48, a resident of Eagle, passed away January 28, 2019 in Eagle.

Wayne was born October 10, 1970, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Jay Wayne Slaughter and Kathy Bobo Slaughter.

He married Amber Christensen on September 4, 2004.  They had 4 beautiful children; Andersen, Benson (deceased), Coleson and Madison.

Wayne graduated from Murray High School, earned his undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Utah and an MBA from California State University in Hayward with a certificate in Athletic Training.  He worked in commercial real estate and started his own development company; Bristol Corp.

Wayne loved to play.  He loved football, the Utes, crossfit and fishing.  Most of all, he loved playing with his kids.

Wayne served a full-time service mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the England Bristol Mission.

Wayne was the best uncle to his many nieces and nephews.  His supportive and positive demeanor was felt by everyone who knew him.

Wayne was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Wayne is beloved by many of the youth that he taught and mentored.

Wayne served as the President of the University of Utah Alumni Assoc. here in Idaho.  He also was involved in many community organizations, and was recognized by the Idaho Business Review as a “40 under 40” recipient, honoring the top 40 business professionals under the age of 40.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Amber Christensen Slaughter; their children, Andersen, Coleson and Madison Slaughter, all of Eagle, Idaho; his parents, Jay and Kathy Slaughter, of Utah; and brothers, Chris (Jen) Slaughter, of Utah, and Jeremy (Amy) Slaughter, of Colorado.

He is preceded in death by 1 son, Benson Michael Slaughter.

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love and support of Amber, the kids and the entire slaughter family.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, February 1, 2019, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2090 N. Eagle Rd. in Eagle, with visitation at the church beginning at 10:00 am.  Burial will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise.
