Tanya Rae Lopez 65 of Meridian Idaho passed away Monday October 24th in her home. Tanya was born December 14th, 1956, in Emmett Idaho to Sheila Rae Clark (Freymuth) and Buck Roy Dillon and was raised in Boise.
On April 30th, 1977, Tanya married the love of her life and her best friend Doug Lopez (2016). They moved to Donnelly, Idaho in 1991 where they resided until moving to Meridian in 2006 back to the Lopez Family Farm. They were married for 39 years until his passing and truly shared a special love.
Tanya worked for Specialty Construction in Boise for over 20 years, where she loved her work and her friends. She was known for her hard-nosed attitude and dedication to her work. She would put people in their place if needed but was also known for her great leadership, teaching, and camaraderie. She loved going to breakfast with the ladies from work. She was well respected and loved in the industry and was always known as “Grandma”.
Tanya loved to vacation and developed a love for cruising. She and Doug took cruises to Hawaii and Alaska together and after his passing she and her family took another cruise to Alaska in his memory. She really enjoyed seeing her family create great memories on these trips also.
Tanya’s love was her family. She took great pride in all of her children, nieces, and nephews, and especially loved to tell how many grandchildren and great grandchildren she had as they were her favorites. She spent lots of time with them and was beneficial in helping to raise them all. Her whole family can tell great stories of her and how she influenced them. Tanya loved being a Grandma. She was a very strong hearted and strong-willed woman and always led her family and put family first.
Tanya is survived by her mother Shelia Clark, daughter Heidi and husband Brian, son Douglas Jr. and wife Athena, and daughter Debbie and husband Rodney, nephew Justen Dillon, grandsons Willy and Ethan, great granddaughter Eleni, sisters Sonya (Aaron) and Marci (Mark), brothers Mark and Steven, and numerous other nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
