Susan Kay Perkins
Susan Kay Perkins went home to be with the Lord on Monday March 18, 2019.
Susan was born June 10, 1950 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Hugh E and Dorothy Jo Anne Perkins.
She was preceded in death by her Father -Hugh, Mother- JoAnne, Brother- John Perkins, Sister- Judy Christ (husband Arland and son Arland Jr)
Susan is survived by her two children, JoLynn Shollenburg (Bryan), Son- Todd Perkins (Lindsey), Sister- Kathie McGahuey (Ken), Nephew- Patrick McGahuey (Janelle) and Niece- Mellisa Jerome (Mike). She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Jesse White and Katelyn White, who referred to Susan as “Grammy”.
Susan graduated from Clackamas High School in 1968. She attended Beauty School after High School and later also obtained certification in Medical Billing. She had various jobs throughout her career including Lloyd Center Corporation and KB Recycling in Oregon.
In 1982 Susan and her children relocated from Portland, Oregon to Central Oregon where she enjoyed the outdoors. Her favorite activity was to take long “drives in the woods” and she loved watching the deer in the fields, as this is what she found most peaceful.
Susan loved animals and music; She loved to dance, loved to cook and had strong faith in the Lord. Her gift was to minister to people “where they were at” and without judgement. She shared her love with as many friends and acquaintances as she could.
She found peace and hope in “To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord”
A celebration of Susan’s life will be held at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Brookwood Clubhouse, 105 E. Old Barn Rd. in Eagle.
