Shelly Michelle Walser Jetsel May 26, 1971 - October 25, 2021

Shelly Michelle Walser Jetsel, 50, of Boise, passed away October 25, 2021.Shelly Michelle Walser Jetsel came into the world on May 26, 1971, in Dallas Texas bringing much joy to her parents Robert Lee Walser Jr and Darlene Blankenship Walser and her older brother Wes Walser.

She spent her childhood and youth in Grand Prairie, TX where she had many friends at school and in her church community. Shelly graduated from South Grand Prairie High School in May 1989.

Shelly met Kyle Jetsel at an LDS Young Adult Dance and that meeting was the beginning of a unique and REAL true-life love story to be envied.  It was more than a romance – it was a friendship and partnership that was meant to be. They were sealed in the Dallas Texas temple on June 1, 1991. Those who knew Kyle and Shelly witnessed the special relationship they nurtured through the years. They were a match made in Heaven. Kyle and Shelly complemented each other in every way and their love and support for each other was a joy to witness and an example to all who knew them.

They began their life together in Grand Prairie, Cedar Hill, and Red Oak Texas. After having four sons, Shelly longed for another child. She and Kyle discussed having another baby. And sure enough, when she went to her first doctor visit, the doctor announced there was not one, but two little ones – TWINS – on the way. Kyle’s comment to the doctor: “That’s not funny,” and the doctor’s answer: “We don’t kid about stuff like this.” A few months later, they welcomed another son and their first daughter into the family. Shelly got her long-awaited daughter and then knew her family was complete.

To know Shelly was to love her. Shelly’s kind and gentle demeanor drew people to her. Shelly carried a serenity and calmness that was refreshing in today’s world and put others at ease. Her joy for life made people want to be around her. Her smile and laugh were contagious. She would often say, “You gotta do what cha gotta do,” confidently leading the way in doing the right thing, no matter the challenge she faced.

Shelly blessed the lives of anyone who knew her in too many ways to count. She served others in many capacities in her church community as she shared her many talents in Primary, Sunday School, Relief Society and Young Women’s organizations. Shelly had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The greatest asset Shelly shared with those around her was through her example as she exemplified the qualities of Christ in all she did. Shelly has always been a quiet force for good.

Shelly’s eye for beauty and her extraordinary talents and creativity blessed the lives of those who knew her.  She started a business called Green Apple Boutique that drew in other women who created beautiful things and helped them share their talents as well. Shelly had a vast collection of items she made and sold over the years. She loved repurposing just about anything from furniture to an old rake handle that hangs on the wall of her beautiful home and is used as a key rack. She was a gifted seamstress and would sew pillows and draperies and much more to sell. Creating beauty and helping others sell their creations brought Shelly true joy.

Shelly’s greatest joy and accomplishment in life was her family. She adored her five sons and one daughter. Family meant everything to her. She loved and served her children daily, always setting a good example for them of the kind of people they should strive to be. Kyle and Shelly worked hard to successfully create a family unit where their children could thrive and where love and support were constant.

Shelly’s influence on all who knew her will be felt forever. This valiant and cherished Daughter of God ended her mortal journey on October 25, 2021 and returned to the arms of our Heavenly Father. Our lives are better from having associated with her. We will miss her terribly, but we will hold our memories of her close to our hearts and smile when we think of her.  We will move forward with the absolute knowledge that we will be able to see her again someday.

Shelly is survived by her husband Kyle Jetsel; their children, Alek (Carrie), Zak (Danika), Erik, Ricky, Chloe and Jack Jetsel; parents, Bobby and Darlene Walser; brother, Wes (Marilyn); niece, Allyse Walser; nephew, Robbie Walser; brother-in-law, Kurtis Jetsel, Kreg Jetsel, Keath Jetsel; sister-in-law, Krystal Singleton; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held, 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3775 E. Ustick Rd., Meridian, with a viewing beginning at 10:00 am. A committal servcie will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery, 9600 Hill Rd., Boise.
