Sharon LeAnn was born November 28th, 1943 in Rupert, Idaho to Edward Hammond and Alice Bailey. She was the second of six children.

Sharon was such an energetic child who loved to play games with her siblings and neighbors whenever she could. She went to Lincoln Elementary followed by Rupert Junior High. She started her working career at Tasty Freeze during her school years and then Ropers’ after she graduated from Minico High School in 1962. That same year she married a young man Wallace Crosland and had a beautiful baby girl Sheila Ann January 26th, 1967 before divorcing. Sharon worked for Best Way Building Company for five years. During that time she met the love of her life, John Tracy. He had 6 children of his own from a previous marriage bringing their family to a total of 7. They married January 10th, 1969 before moving to Boise, ID where they lived for 2 years. Their family made the move over to Wood River Valley in 1971. They then adopted Lyndee in 1974 to complete their family. In 1980 they decided to foster a young man, Mario, for 3 years. They ended up moving to Star in 1985, then back to Boise in 2002 and finished her time out in Mountain Home.

She worked many different jobs over the years mainly doing bookkeeping, then ended up retiring in 2016 after working for Child Support where she had made many lifelong friends. She said her favorite job though was working with John renovating their homes and bookkeeping for their businesses, even though in her words “He was the worst boss ever!” Sharon loved spending time with her very large family of 9 children, 45 grandchildren and lots of great grandchildren. She loved getting together, cooking big meals and spending time with them. Her favorite thing to cook were her famous Grandma’s Rolls, everyone loved Sharon’s rolls!

She enjoyed gardening and her flowers were always so beautiful. One of her favorite pastimes over her last years was playing cards with the girls and working at the temple as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In 2019 Sharon had her first diagnosis of cancer starting with breast cancer, then pancreatic cancer and lung cancer. She was such a fighter and went through chemo and radiation each time. She thought she was in remission in 2023 when learning her pancreatic cancer returned and ultimately became the cause of her death the evening of June 19th, 2024.

She passed away at home with her daughter Lyndee and sister Marvelene by her side. Sharon is preceded in death by her husband John Tracy,  1 step daughter Rennette Forbis, parents Ed and Alice Hammond,  2 brothers Gene and Kent Hammond and sister Linda Pratt.  She is survived by her daughters Sheila Robert’s and Lyndee Wright,  3 step daughters Amy Loughmiller, Patricia Woodbury and Pamela Dillion, 2 step sons Robin Tracy and Steven Tracy,  her sister Marvelene Hiddleston and brother Steve Hammond.   Many grandchildren,  great grandchildren and family.  She will be greatly missed by so many.
