Sally was a dear, dear, and darling friend since we met in 8th grade when I moved to Spokane. We had great times with Sally and Mike through the years and she was a great “sister” in our GPB years and reunions for Lewis & Clark and U of Idaho! Mike and kids, we send our love and memories your way–you will miss her and her beautiful attitude toward life! Fred and Judy Hutchison Pfau

Sally and I went to Lewis and Clark High School together. She was always one of the most gracious, accepting, kind and inclusive ladies in our class. She was loved by many. Please know that my sympathies are with her family.
Sincerely, Betsy Swanson

Mike and family, I am so sorry to hear about Sally’s death. She was a dear lady with a passion for life. She willingly shared her talents and caring heart with family, friends, associates and organizations such as Gamma Phi Beta and Assistance League. We all benefited from having her be as part of our lives.

“Mrs. Shanafelt” was probably my daughter’s favorite teacher of all time. She was an excellent educator and mentor. I have many pieces of art that my daughter created in her class that I treasure. I lost my daughter at the age of 20 unexpectedly but I want you to know that “Mrs. Shanafelt” was a beloved teacher who enriched my daughter’s life. I hope they are once again making art together. Peace to your family.
