Sanna Liissa Gardner Montgomery passed to her eternal reward on January 13, 2022. She was the daughter of Allen Gardner and Winifred Filpula Gardner born on September 21, 1951, in Logan, Utah.
Sanna grew up in Gridley and Cerritos, California. She attended Cerritos College and completed a BS degree at Brigham Young University. Her training was as an educator, and she loved teaching. In her mind and the minds of her family, her greatest teaching achievements were the education and moral training of her children. In this, she was fantastic. Her first priority was being a stay-at-home mom at which she excelled. She also taught school, was a proofreader, tutored Chinese students in English as a Second Language over the Internet, and worked hard at all her many jobs. Sanna was very talented and artistic; she loved doing crafts and making beautiful artistic objects. Her life was one dedicated to the love and service of her fellow beings. Sanna had many good friends with whom she developed close relationships. She served in many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during her lifetime. She was also very active in scouting and shepherded her four boys each to Eagle Scout rank.
Sanna married Paul Leslie Blood in the Salt Lake Temple on January 26, 1973. They raised six children. They were divorced in 1994 and went their separate ways. Sanna married Samuel Max White on May 19, 2001, in Logan, Utah. Sanna and Max served as Senior Missionaries in Washington State. They later divorced in 2018. Afterward, she spent time travelling, some of it overseas, to visit family and friends.
When the isolation requirements for the COVID-19 pandemic struck in March 2020, Sanna was returning to the Boise, Idaho area from Utah in April 2020 and needed a place to isolate. William Christopher (Chris) Montgomery had just moved to Idaho from the Salt Lake City area. He had a spare bedroom and offered it to Sanna as a place she could isolate. Sanna and Chris fell in love again and remarried in Meridian, Idaho, on May 9, 2020, later solemnized in the Boise Idaho Temple. An interesting thing about the marriage was Chris had changed his name from Paul Leslie Blood to William Christopher Montgomery several years before, and for Sanna and Chris, it was a remarriage after 26 years apart. Their six children were ecstatic that the family was together once again. They had a blissful nearly two years of marriage prior to Sanna’s passing.
Sanna is survived by her husband, William Christopher Montgomery, six children, David J. Blood (Jennifer), Meridian, Idaho; Michael R. Blood (Janae), Boise, Idaho; J. Kathryn Schweitzer (Aaron), Boise, Idaho; James R. Blood (Chandra), Boise, Idaho; Suzanne K. Blood, Beaverton, Oregon; and Douglas A. Blood (Marie), Wellington, New Zealand; 15 grandchildren; and four sisters, two brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and one brother.
Funeral services will be held at the Mountain View Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8620 West Goddard Road, Boise, Idaho 83704, on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Private family burial will be held at Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.

January 17, 2022 at 4:17 pmSanna grew up two blocks away, and her whole family would visit every Sumday after Church.
In Cerritos my wife and I lived 30 miles away , and we would visit often. Thanksgiving was special with each family member having their own pumpkin pie.
Learning to share was important. Having your own was often considered in several ways.
The many special aspects of Sanna’s productive and loving life are greatly appreciated.
Family is forever.
Love
Uncle Milo

January 22, 2022 at 10:10 amI enjoyed spending time with Sanna at Singles events before she found her loving husband. We danced, painted pumpkins, made pottery, and laughed a lot. I always felt happy when I was with Sanna.
