Sadie Lynn Ashton September 16, 2002 - March 30, 2020

Our precious Sadie Lady returned home to live with her loving Heavenly Father on March 30, 2020. All those who knew Sadie have had their hearts softened forever. Though Sadie was taken from this life too early, we know she had fulfilled the work she was sent to do here on this earth.
Sadie was born on September 16, 2002 in Rexburg, Idaho to Charles and Brittany Ashton. What a blessing Sadie was to join their family! Sadie was a fireball from the very beginning. Sadie had a true zest for life. She walked and talked at a very early age. From that time on, there was no stopping her! Anyone that knew Sadie knew that she loved to talk and laugh (usually at extreme volumes!) Sadie would light up the room the instant she entered it.
Sadie and her parents lived in Pocatello until she was 1 year old. They then moved to Boise for her father to finish up his schooling. It was while living in Boise that Sadie was blessed with her first baby sister, Ellie Ann. After living 2 years in Boise, their family moved to Idaho Falls where Sadie was again blessed with another younger sister, Carly Grace.
In 2008, Sadie and her family moved to Star, Idaho, where they knew they had found their forever home. Sadie attended North Star Charter School. It was here where she met some of her closest and dearest friends. Sadie was currently enrolled as a Junior at Eagle High School in Eagle, Idaho where she was a cheerleader for the Mustangs Cheer squad her sophomore and junior year. Cheer is where her personality truly shined. Her enthusiasm and pure joy for life was felt by everyone who was privileged to experience watching her cheer with her team. Sadie was an exceptional student who went above and beyond in all her classes and excelled in all aspects academically. Sadie touched the lives of so many of the teachers, faculty, and students in her classes and seminary classes.
Sadie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Sadie diligently served both the youth and the adults of the Star 2nd Ward. Sadie was needed in Heaven to continue her journey ministering to others.
Sadie was an accomplished pianist. She had a natural ability that blessed the lives of all those who had the amazing opportunity to listen to her play the piano. Her home was constantly filled with beautiful music coming from their piano room. It was a pure joy to hear Sadie share this special talent. Sadie also had the privilege to teach swim lessons. Being in the pool, out in the sunshine was her happy place. She blessed the lives of so many children with her love and compassion by teaching them a lifelong skill.
Sadie was enveloped by so many incredible friends. If you met Sadie, you couldn’t help but fall instantly in love with her. She had a contagious laugh, and the most gorgeous smile. Sadie was rarely seen without a huge smile on her face. The days were brightened by Sadie for so many just by looking at that amazing smile! Sadie was kind to all those that she encountered, and always made you smile. She was an example of a true follower of Christ in her words and her actions.
Our Heavenly Father knew that Ellie and Carly needed Sadie as their big sister. Sadie loved her sisters immensely. Sadie’s family was blessed to have so many memories together that will be forever cherished. Sadie was an example of Christlike love, joy, patience, and excitement. Sadie brought an enthusiasm about life into her home that is beyond comprehension. Her family has a huge void without Sadie physically in their home, but her comforting spirit and love are felt constantly. What a blessing it is to know that we will be reunited with her someday as an eternal family.
Sadie has been welcomed into Heaven with so many open arms of family that has gone on before her. She leaves behind here on earth many family members and loved ones who will continue out her service and love for others.
There will be a private graveside for Sadie and her immediate family at the Star cemetery. We appreciate your understanding through these trying times in the world that we currently are living in. We are at peace knowing that this is how she will be laid to rest.
We would love for our family and friends to join us for a Celebration of Life Luau in Sadie’s honor on July 18th at 6pm at the Ashton’s home. We will be able to “party it up” as Sadie would say, in the warm summer sunshine after all our hearts have had some time to cope and to heal.
