Rylan Cooper Hoob December 1, 2007 - October 21, 2022

Rylan Cooper Hoob, 14, of Boise, passed away October 21, 2022. Rylan was born on December 1, 2007, in Boise, Idaho, to parents Travis and Heather (Potter) Hoob.

Rylan was a military child whose young life took him from Idaho to Italy to California until we settled in Idaho. From the age of two and a half, he spent four years in Italy where he enjoyed eating gelato, learning Italian, and visiting nearby countries.  He began his education at an Italian ‘Asilo” for two years where he spoke a unique combination of Italian and English while getting to eat pasta every day.  Though he enjoyed the adventures of school on the air force base, he was thrilled to settle in at Seven Oaks Elementary in Boise. He went on to attend Eagle Middle School and was a freshman at Eagle High School.

True to his teenage form, Rylan enjoyed mountain biking, snowboarding, reading, playing the trombone and video games. He was a proud member of the Eagle High School NICA Mountain Bike Team. Rylan thoroughly enjoyed all the hard work it required and adored his coaches and teammates.

He looked forward to one day becoming a bike mechanic or possibly a welder. He enjoyed cuddling with his cat, Melly, and wrestling with his dog, Rollo. Rylan was a huge fan of playing pranks even when he wasn’t around to see the end result.  Those who loved him will sorely miss his witty and dry sense of humor that always had the perfect touch of sarcasm.

Rylan is survived by his parents, Travis, and Heather Hoob. Grandma Pam Spickler. Aunt Amber Thomason, cousins Alex, Haley, Greylan and Xander. Aunts and Uncles, Heather and Dave Vitti, cousins Liliana and Ava; Sarah and Glen Seekins, cousins Gunner, Canyen, Capri and Chase; Jason Smith, Kim and Ben Sappington.

He had many great aunts and uncles whom he loved very much.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother and paternal grandfather.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Idaho Interscholastic Cycling league – Eagle High School Team (https://idahomtb.org/) or to the National MS Society (www.nmss.org) or to the Hoob family (https://everloved.com/life-of/rylan-hoob/ ).

A visitation for family and friends will be held, 10:00 am, Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the Eagle Nazarene Church, 1001 W. State St., Eagle, Idaho, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am.
