Roy Alegria passed away January 20, 2022.
Born in Standish, Michigan on July 30, 1967, to Cruz and Martina Alegria. He was the third of four children. He grew up in Donna, Texas and migrated to Glenns Ferry, Idaho.
Roy often recalled his childhood and the many adventures he shared with his siblings especially with his late younger brother. Together they were jokesters. They always shared something funny. Him and the other brothers loved to chase their sister for messing up their car tracks created on the ground.
Roy was the type of person who would do anything for anyone day or night. He was a caring and sharing person. He would take off his shirt for anyone. He had a heart of gold. People sought friendship and advice from Roy. His compassionate heart guided his actions the way he chose to spend his time with those he loved and cared for.
Roy was always available for his family, relatives, colleagues, and friends. There are many examples how he would help others in need by giving them money, food, and clothing. He was there comforting those going through loss of death, divorce, sickness, etc… he was always lending a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, a hand to help and an open heart to comfort and console others.
Roy is survived by his mother Martina Alegria, sister Nati Alegria, niece Adriana Alegria, adopted daughter Sofia Bowman and grandchildren Naveah, Faith, and Daniel (DJ).
A vigil and rosary will be held at Bowman Funeral Parlor, 10254 W. Carlton Bay Dr. in Garden City on Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church 811 S Latah St, Boise, ID 83705 in Boise on Friday, February 4, at 11:00 a.m.
