Robert Michael (Mike) Lamb June 13, 1957 - September 23, 2021

Our cherished brother, uncle and friend, Robert ‘Mike’ Lamb left us on Thursday, September 23, 2021 to be in the loving arms of Jesus.  Mike was born on June 13, 1957 in Jerome, Idaho to Bob and Meta Lamb.  Mike was a graduate of Borah High School and Boise State University.  Throughout Mike’s life he worked in accounting, most recently for Gran Del Oil and PRB Leasing.  He loved to travel to Hawaii and made several trips over the years.  Hawaii is where he felt most at peace. The family would like to thank the St. Luke’s Hospice Staff for the kind and compassionate care given to Mike and his family.  Mike was preceded in death by his parents and brother David.  Although Mike spent many years during his youth and adult life fighting illness, he was always a kind and loving son, brother, uncle and friend.  We love you and will miss you.  Mike left us with the following message of love, friendship, grace and faith.

Goodbye to Family and Friends:

My life has been blessed.  I have navigated through some tough times, but only with the help of God, family and friends. I thank you.  Although illness has taken its toll on my body and my spirit, my faith will never be stronger.  I praise the Lord who was faithful to this sinner no matter how much I may have doubted and been unfaithful to his teachings. God was always with me.

Cancer will destroy my body and I will pass before I would choose, so some may wonder why I’d say I was blessed.  Looking back at my life I can see that I never had to struggle with necessities of life.  I did not lack food, clothing, shelter or companionship.  I had material wants that may have gone unfulfilled but never my needs.  God always provided.

I was always surrounded by family, parents Bob and Meta Lamb, brothers Greg and David Lamb, sisters Diane (Steve) Counter and Lisa (Bryan) Everman.  We shared laughter and tears together and I appreciate every single moment we had together.  I have been here long enough to have the joy of seeing the family expand.  I am so thankful to have watched my nieces and nephews grow, Zachary Everman, Trevor (Jessica) Everman, Shaina Everman, Marissa (Mitch) Evans, AJ Counter and Alex Lamb.  I have also been blessed with two great-nephews, Arrow Counter, Kellen Everman and great-niece Kennedy Everman.  I am so proud of you all and could not have loved you more.  I was blessed to receive love and support from my extended family, Phyllis (Tyler) Bennett of Cary, NC, Louise Foster of Concord, NC and Dorothy (Jim) Buck of Mount Vernon, Washington.  I hope you all know how much I appreciated and loved you all.

I’ve been blessed by many friends along the way.  I want to give a special thanks to Paul Blomberg who has been my boss, my mentor and my friend.  I thank him for his persistence and patience in bringing me closer to God.  I thank Ed Carda for the fellowship, friendship, the endless offers of assistance with whatever I needed and for keeping me active and engaged as I moved through this last season of life.  I also want to thank Terry Elmore; you could always make me laugh and you are a great friend.  There are many others who I have not mentioned, but know that each of you played a very important part in my life.

My message to all with whom I have crossed paths.  Shed no tears for me for I am with the Lord.  Do not mourn my death, but instead celebrate this gift of life.  Appreciate and cherish every moment.  Cherish each other.  I thank you all for your role in shaping my life and I’ll leave this earth with a heart and spirit filled with gratitude and joy.  Thank you all!

My last thank you is to a loving God.  Thank you for this gift of Life and all the experiences I have had.  I pray that I have learned the lessons you wanted me to learn.  I pray that you will be with my family and friends and that they will all know the blessing of getting to know you the way I have.  Give them peace in this time when the world seems full of chaos.  I also thank you for this opportunity to say goodbye.     Amen

I leave you with two favorite Bible verses.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Ephesians 2:8 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Bless you all!

Love, Mike
