Robert Mendoza, a retired Veteran and life-long resident of Boise, Idaho, died after
complications from Covid on December 20th, 2020.
Robert is survived by his sister, Ruby Abeyta; his children, Julie Brown, Angela Negus, Rachel
Birr, and Liz McLeod; his grandchildren; Alisha Demers, Courtney and Ashley Negus, Justin
Finlayson, Sarah Jerlaw, Shelby Kaplan, Emily Coltrin and Tyler Sasser; great grandchildren, Eva,
Jonathan, Carter, Leon, Sterling and Jackson.
Robert was born on April 20th, 1937 in Delta, Colorado to Albert Mendoza and Apolonia
Rodriguez. Robert enlisted in the Air Force in 1955 at the age of 18 and proudly served in both
the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal in 1971 for
acts of service. In 1975 Robert was honorably discharged.
A private funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on December 31st at the Idaho State Veteran Cemetery.
