Robert Lester Talik
Robert “Bob” Talik, a.k.a. Hun, Dad, Grandpa, Gramps, and GP, entered eternal life, Wednesday, January 5th, 2022, surrounded by the love of family.
Bob shared 63 of his 84 years, with the love of his life, Joan, who he met while serving in the USAF. They shared many adventures together, blessing so many along the way. Bob not only believed life was one big adventure, he believed leaving this world would be the biggest adventure of all. His best friend Sammie recently passed. The family finds comfort knowing they are reunited.
Bob leaves behind his wife Joan, son Jerry (Lisa); daughters Vonnie (Brett) and Kelly (Brian); grandchildren Nick (Lexxie), Brittany (Cordell), Katie (Farid), Amy, Alex and Phillip (Miss Alex); great-grandchildren, Maddie, Landry, Bexlee, Isaaq and Neumann and his dog, Honey.
Bob loved being around people and didn’t know a stranger. We remember his big smile, walking into a room asking “where’s the party”, bringing the best snacks on fishing trips and always catching the first fish. We remember an occasional flying golf club, his love/hate relationship with professional sports, his ability to fix anything, family trips to the Oregon Coast, discovering hole- in-the-wall restaurants and obscure liquors, beer and wine.
Of the many valuable life lessons Bob imparted, favorites include: you can never use too much garlic or have too many cooking gadgets, dark beer is the best beer, listening to music makes life a little easier, as does sharing life with a dachshund. There is always a reason for a game of golf, with a visit to the 19th hole. Spend time doing what you love, being with who you love and shy away from judging others. Taking chances keeps you young and remember, speed limits are a suggestion.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, January 14, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2612 W. State St. in Boise.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in Bob’s memory to St. Mary’s Food Bank, Idaho Humane Society, or to a favorite charity.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
