Robert Lee Bevan
Robert “Bob” Bevan died peacefully at home, accompanied by his family, on March 18, 2021 after a short battle with cancer at the age of 78.
Bob graduated from Foster High School in Tukwila, Washington in 1962. He served his country in Vietnam with the US Army from 1966-1967. Shortly after returning from Vietnam he began a career as an Air Traffic Controller with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in 1967. Bob retired from the FAA in 2003 with over 36 years of government service.
Bob was a long time resident of Idaho and lived in Garden Valley for many years of his life. The mountains and high deserts of Idaho were his playgrounds. Here he enjoyed hunting, fishing, rock hounding, snowmobiling, metal detecting and in all ways, just being in the outdoors. Not just an outdoorsman, most friends and family know him by his very generous spirit, willing to lend a hand or a dollar to help family and friends. He would like to let everyone know that he will “see you on the other side”.
Bob is survived by his Daughter, Holly Delay of Eagle Idaho and his Brother, Timothy Bevan of Piedmont, Oklahoma. Bob is also survived by Son-in-Law Everett Delay, Sister-in-Law Noreen Bevan and Tim and Noreen’s 6 children, spouses and 20 grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his Mother Louise Miller Bevan, Father Robert Milton Bevan, Brother Randall Mark Bevan, Niece Rebecca Bevan and his long-time love, Irene Hultgren.
Services will be at Idaho State Veterans Cemetery on April 9th, 2021 beginning promptly at 3:00pm, including military funeral honors. Please arrive at 10100 N Horseshoe Bend Rd in Boise, Idaho at least 15-20 minutes prior to services. A reception will follow for friends and family at 1359 W Applecreek Court in Eagle.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
