Robert George Spriggel, 80, of Eagle, Idaho, went to be with the Lord on April 5, 2022, of natural causes. Bob peacefully passed at home with his family by his side.
Bob was born on March 6, 1942, in Portland, Oregon to George and Virginia Spriggel. The family moved to Idaho at the age of 9. He graduated in 1960 from Green Leaf Friends Academy and went on to attend Boise Jr. College, Multnomah School of the Bible, and College of Pacifica in Stockton, California.
Bob married Judith K. Vanderdasson on November 24, 1963, in Caldwell, Idaho. The two recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. Bob and Judi had two children, Arnie, and Cheryl.
He began his career with Holt Bros in Stockton, California – Caterpillar Dealer in 1969. Bob’s career took him to California, Idaho – Western States Equipment Boise and Meridian, then to Alaska in 1975, working on the pipeline for NC Machinery and Rowan Drilling at Prudhoe Bay and to China in 1996. While in China, Bob and Judi were able to work together at Caterpillar for 5 years. 3 years of that Bob was responsible for the assembly and operations of 32 789 CAT trucks coming into the world’s largest coalmine. The other 2 years, Bob was in Beijing in management and setting up stores in North China. Bob worked for Caterpillar, and Caterpillar Dealers for 32 years, with 22 of those years in management.
Bob retired in 2001 and they returned to their home and acreage in Meridian, and he began his own business selling “Black Gold Premiere Dog Food” and loved the Labs he trained and raised. Bob and Judi sold their Meridian ranch and built a new home in Eagle, Idaho in the fall of 2020.
Above all, Bob loved spending time with his family; hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and traveling. Bob adored his family and was kind, loving, fun and oh so adventurous.
Bob was a faithful member at the Linder Road Church of Christ and served as an elder for 12 years. He was also the Director of “Camp Ivydale” for the Church of Christ Teen Camp for many years, located in Idaho City.
Bob will be missed greatly by all who knew him as, Husband, Father, Grandpa, and Friend.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judith; daughter, Cheryl (Dan) Allegood; daughter-in-law, Tiffany Spriggel; grandchildren Preston, Taylor and Cameron Spriggel and Tara, Parker, and Luke Allegood; and great grandchildren, Beckett, Kipton and Huxley Spriggel-Preston and Noah Spriggel-Cameron.
Bob is proceeded in death by his parents, George, and Virginia; and his son Arnold (Arnie) Spriggel.

A viewing will be held, 1:00 pm- 4:00 pm, Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Bowman Funeral Parlor, 10254 W. Carlton Bay Dr., Garden City. A funeral service will be held, 11:00 am, Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the Linder Road Church of Christ, 1555 N. Linder Rd., Meridian. A committal service will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery, 9600 Hill Rd., Boise.
