Robert B Todd January 3, 1930 - September 21, 2019

My life was lived in three chapters: My relationship to the Creator of the Universe; My relationship to my family; My relationship to the world of education and the world of work. These three chapters blended into My Book of Life.

I was born in Dayton, Ohio on January 3, 1930 to Robert K. Todd and Margaret D. Todd. I was blessed like Timothy in the New Testament, because I too “from childhood had known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” My world view was based upon the God of creation-the designer of the cosmos. My purpose in life was to learn His thoughts, and the truth about the world He created-both the material world of science, and the moral and spiritual laws He set forth. All truth being God’s truth.

My family expanded from parents and grandparents to one wife, 4 daughters, 1 son, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. God and family have been my greatest focus in life.

My education consisted of three college degrees: An A.A. degree in aeronautics, a B.A. in Speech Communication, a Master’s in Communicology, and numerous courses in religion and Bible studies with various non-denominational church groups. Perhaps most important-a life-long study in Christian Apologetics, philosophy, and Bible studies. Learning to think God’s thoughts after Him has been the great challenge and blessing of my life.

The world of work was divided into three categories and three loves: Christian ministry; aviation, and college teaching. As a pastor-teacher I served for over 30 years in independent churches. Overlapping this I spent about 20 years in aviation as a commercial pilot in non-airline flying, and 30 years in college teaching in the field of rhetoric-or public speaking and debate.

All in all it was a good and productive life. Esther M. Todd (whom I call Teri) has been my wife for over 60 years. She has been my life-long companion, lover, and friend. She has tolerated my many anomalies and aberrations, for which I give God thanks.

After the passing of my wife Teri, God graciously brought a beautiful Christian woman, Dorie, into my life. She is truly a blessing and we have shared marital bliss fort the past three and a half years. My darling Dorie I have loved you with all my heart.

As you read this obituary, acknowledge that I am with Christ and the redeemed of all ages in a great place called Heaven. The time of my departure from planet earth was 9/21/2019 at 8:18 am. My arrival time in the Heavenly Kingdom was one nanosecond later.

-Robert B. Todd
