Reneé Edean Bliss (McGrew)

December 6, 1971 – March 1, 2019

Reneé Edean Bliss (McGrew) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, March 1, 2019 after a year-long battle with cancer.

Reneé was born in Sonora, CA to Keith and Madelyn Custer on December 6, 1971.  She moved to Idaho with her husband and two young children in the late 1990’s.  While raising her children she worked as a paraprofessional in the education field where she worked extensively with elementary school students, curriculum development, and identification of at-risk students. Reneé also worked with special needs children and attended the College of Southern Idaho to aquire her teaching credentials.

Reneé fulfilled many roles throughout her life, but none was more important to her than motherhood.  Her pride in her children and the joy they brought to her life was evident to all who knew her. Her family consisted of five biological children and three stepchildren:  John McGrew III, Lindsy McGrew, Brianna McGrew, Brittney McGrew, Justin McGrew, Andrew Bliss, Melissa Bliss, and Ashlyn Bliss.

Her and her husband, Steve Bliss, enjoyed many activities together including camping, family gatherings, traveling, watching movies, four wheeling, horse back riding, and quiet evenings by the fire.  Family was dear to her heart and she strived to ensure that everyone remained close even as children grew and left the home to pursue their own life paths.

She is preceded in death by her father, Keith Custer, Jr., brother, Kevin Custer, cousin, Trevor Sawyers, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Survived by her mother, Madelyn Custer, stepfather, Glenn Tonn, spouse, Steve Bliss, sister, Regina Snyder, aunts, Betty Sawyers, Vera Manfro, numerous cousins, her eight children, and grandson, Cylus McGrew.

Heaven received another precious angel with her passing.  She will forever be in the hearts of all who knew her and will truly be missed.
