Ramona Kay Sargent

Ramona Kay Sargent, 73, went to Heaven to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, on June 22, 2024 in Boise, Idaho.

Ramona was born May 4, 1951 in Caldwell, Idaho.  She was the 3rd of 5 children to be raised and loved by their blessed parents Llyod and Bertha Kuck.  She lived in the town of Middleton, Idaho before she moved with her family to their new home on the farm located on the outskirts of Caldwell, Idaho by their beloved Boise River.  She, along with her siblings Cleo, Sharon, Stoney, and Ronald went to Middleton for school.  Ramona graduated from Middleton High school in 1969.

She married and raised 3 beautiful children (Melissa, Teresa, and Daniel) with Steve Sargent in Nampa, Idaho.  Later Ramona and Steve would separate and divorce.  Over the years, Ramona and Steve stayed in touch to be part of their children and grandchildren’s lives as they grew older. As the children grew and went to schools in Nampa, Idaho,  Ramona had multiple jobs that she loved.  She was a mom, wife, crafter, mentor,  secretary, cleaner, and eventually an owner of her own cleaning business.  Ramona was also the caretaker of her grandmother Golda Nicols and later her father Llyod Kuck.

Ramona loved growing up with her siblings and parents.  She talked often about fond memories of her brothers, sister, mom, and dad.  She loved their little house in Middleton where she would fondly talk about eating pancakes at the neighbor’s house, the water tower adventures, and going to the church down the street with her sister.  When they later moved to the farm in Caldwell, she had many more fun adventures with her family.  She and her family would reminisce about wonderful childhood memories: walking down to the river with her brother Cleo; playing with cats in the field while talking with God; helping with the stubborn donkey; dressing up her cat and putting him in the doll buggy; going to her grandparents farm and finding the haystack cats; making igloos with her sister Sharon and brother Cleo while having a snowball fight afterwards; making snow ice cream with sugar and a dash of vanilla; having fun with Stoney and Ronald as she helped them with school and watched them grow into strong and loving young men who loved to hunt, fish, watch movies, play music, drive trucks, help their family, enjoy fried chicken and apple pie; standing up for her friends at school; going to the movies; dancing in her go go boots; and going to concerts in downtown Caldwell of soon to be famous rock stars.  When her brothers married, she was very excited and full of great joy about her new sister-in-laws and the beautiful friendships they would build over their many years together. That precious friendship bond was so special to her.  She also  loved helping her mom and dad over the many years they had together on the farm.

Her love for family didn’t stop as she grew up into a beautiful mother of 3 very special children, the mother-in-law of 3 wonderful spouses who always made her smile and laugh often, and a grandma to 5 grandchildren that were her pride and joy.   Ramona loved family life and tried to make it special for everyone.  In the early years she would often be found taking her kids to dance class; art classes; school fundraisers; grandma and grandpa Kuck’s farm; grandma and grandpa Sargent’s house; the local libraries; trips to Mr. Lord’s house and nursing home; the Motor Club; her lady friend houses she cleaned; craft fairs; local parks; swimming pools; camping trips; Sunday drives in the country; going to church events; shopping at Kings, K-Mart, Craft Corner, and the Karcher Mall; trips to Oregon and Washington in the Big Blue Bird truck; and visiting local relatives so Melissa, Teresa, and Daniel could play with all their cousins. Mom was head-over-heels excited when her children married their wonderful spouses who became like her own children to her.  Later she was known to help grandchildren by visiting them;  taking them to school; baking for them; going to school functions; having fun with them on holidays; hot rodding in the countryside in her little red car to the song of red cadillac by the Judds; singing and dancing to Elvis at the local farmer’s market; and trying to sing opera to make the kids laugh. She enjoyed talking to the kids about her hobbies over the years of making dolls, doll clothes, knitting, making waxed cones, walking through nature, helping animals especially cats, medical research in books, reading books, helping school children, helping seniors, gardening, decorating homes and feeding the local squirrels.  God, family, home, pets, and friends were her number one priority and she wanted everyone to feel loved and special daily over her lifetime.

She was preceded in death by her brother Cleo Kuck; mother Bertha Kuck, and father Llyod Kuck.

She is survived by her beloved 3 children Melissa, Teresa, Daniel  and their spouses; her amazing and precious grandchildren Macy, Junior, Mercedes, Tim, and Jon; her siblings Sharon, Stoney,  Ronald and their spouses.

Ramona was always grateful for all those who believed and supported her over the years.  A special thank you to Jesus, family, friends, church, medical staff, and Bowman Funeral Home for making mom feel loved and special as she transitioned to her new home in heaven with her loved ones already there.

In honor of mom’s wishes to not have a formal service, the family wishes that all her beloved family and friends would take a special moment and find a spot in nature to just reflect on memories of her, her family, and her beautiful life.  This would be a wonderful and very special life celebration that would give everyone a chance to let her know in their own special way that she was very loved here and also in heaven. She would love to know that you all are honoring her by continuing to help with her life missionary work of helping local seniors in their life journeys; helping local animal shelters especially cats; and spreading the good news of Jesus Christ to everyone.

She would love to have donations made to Pet Haven in Nampa, Idaho for her beloved kitty cats.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
