Ralph Edward Hodges
Ralph Edward Hodges passed away in Boise, Idaho on October 2, 2021, at the age of 68. Ralph was born on March 6, 1953 in Scotia, California to Weston and Wanda Hodges. He grew up in Northern California and graduated from Fortuna High School.
His early working life was spent in the woods of Northern California. He worked for many years operating a Yarder. He always loved cutting firewood and could rarely drive through a forest without seeing the trees as how they measured in board feet as lumber or firewood. He loved growing trees as well and planted many Walnut, Redwood and Eucalyptus trees in the family orchard.
Over the years, he worked as a logging truck driver, crew chief, school bus driver and mechanic. He once owned a small motel in Northern California, and then retired to try his hand at beef cattle ranching near Sweet, Idaho.
Ralph is survived by his wife Connie and all of their 5 children and his 12 grandchildren: Shanice, Aubree, Shayleena, Beau, Grant, George, Thomas, Bodie, Eliott, Baine, Kyle, and James. He is also survived by all of his siblings: Bill, Mark, Marilyn, Judy, and Richard, and his beloved dogs, Simon and Carly.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
