Patricia Doris Fitzgerald
Pat was born on June 12, 1936 in Milwaukee Wisconsin and passed away on July 24, 2020 of natural causes from Dementia at home surrounded by her family.
She was the eldest of 3 children born to Fred and Regina Binger. She was raised in Milwaukee graduating from Polaski High School. Shortly after high school she joined the USO to support the troops. This is where she met Jerry. Pat and Jerry were married for 15 years and had 2 children. Tim Fitzgerald and Teri Hall. She lived in Fairfield Ca for 52 years. Monday thru Friday Pat took care of the neighborhood children and got them all off to school everyday. But on Sundays she always made time for church.
Years later she took on a job working in the cash room at JC Penney, then onto the local banks in her area. Working as a Teller and a Customer Service Rep in the call center at Travis Credit Union. After retiring from Travis, she didn’t know what to do with herself, so she signed up to work as a substitute lunch lady at her grandchildren’s school. There she had a blast with the kids.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed camping and boating and swimming with her friends and family. Soon Pat became a grandma, and this made her glow with excitement! She was blessed with 4 grandchildren. Melissa, Michael, Cortney and Thomas. What could make her even happier? GREATGRANDCHILDREN! She was blessed with 13 greats!! Leila, Lilyana, Madison, Michael, Serena, Kalea, Melanie, The twins, Lukas and Kallisa, Hanalyn, Claire, Avonlea and Chloe. And 1 great grand dog Cocoa…who she loved very much. Pat was also blessed with extended family members. Dave Hall, Brandon Fry, Lynn Hausler, Sally Hausler and Tim Masters. Pat had a special love for each of them.
In 2014 Pat moved in with her daughter Teri and Son in law Dave. She needed care. So, granddaughter Lynn went to school to become a CNA to help take care of Pat (grandma). Everyday for 6 years Teri and Lynn took care of Pat (grandma) with help from everyone in the family. It takes a village. We all loved her so much. Eventually, she succumbed to Dementia. Through the years of being with her family everyday, has given us all wonderful memories with her (grandma).
She is preceded in death by her sister Elaine Kornreich and her brother Melvin and (Chris) Binger. Her nephew Jeff and (Jamie) Kornreich and family and Nephew Trent Binger and his family and Niece Trisha and (Keith) Shipman and their family.
Pats final resting place will be at the Star Cemetery in Star Idaho. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Canyon Springs Christian Church, 1444 Cornell St. in Middleton. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at the Star Cemetery in Star.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
