“If oceans were filled with ink
And the sky were a blank page
Still I would run out of space
To tell of all this love
Forever will never be long enough
To come to the end of an endless love”
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Patricia “Pat” Colleen Cooper on Sunday, August 28th, 2022. Pat was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully at home.
Pat grew up in the New Plymouth and Boise areas and spent her time between her grandparents Martha Arnettie Wright and Archibald “Arch” Wright’s home, and her mother Nellie Leora Wright Butts and her stepfather Marvin John Butts’ home.
Pat graduated from Borah High School and shortly thereafter married Eugene Ray Cooper on her 18th birthday in 1960. Pat worked most her adult life as a bookkeeper for several local companies. Pat and Eugene went on to have seven children, five biological children and two adopted granddaughters. Pat was a wonderful and loving wife and mother who gave her all to her family.
Pat was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, several aunts and uncles, her daughter Angela Rae Cooper Spann, cousin Sharon Colleen Hetzel, sister Betty Leeora Butts, brother Roger Bruce Butts, and brother Vernon Leon Peterson.
Pat is survived by her spouse Eugene Ray Cooper; children Lorri Ann McLellen, Richard Eugene Cooper, James Ray Cooper, Michelle Rena Cooper Ables, Nichole Colleen Cooper, and Jessica Ann Cooper; several sisters; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pat was one of the strongest, bravest, kindest, and most loving women to ever walk this earth, and our family was blessed to have her as the head of our family. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Pat’s life on Saturday, September 17th, 2022, at 3291 Frontier Way, Boise 83713, from 4-6pm. This day is special to us, as it would have been Pat’s 80th birthday and her and Eugene’s 62nd wedding anniversary.
