Mildred Maxine Cayford November 1, 1932 - February 4, 2021

Mildred Maxine Cayford, 88, of Boise, Idaho was welcomed into Heaven on February 4, 2021.

Mildred was born in November of 1932 in Wheatland, Wyoming to Roy and Dorothy Bibbey.  She was the youngest of three daughters.  Her family moved to Nyssa, Oregon in 1940 where she met and married Tom Chandler. She and Tom had 4 children.  Tom was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1952.  They moved to Boise early in their marriage in 1956 for medical care and Mildred cared for him until his death.

In 1973, Mildred married Ralph Cayford and together they had many adventures of fishing, traveling, and working side by side, always helping both family and friends whenever they needed anything. Ralph passed away in 2012.

Mildred spent her entire life being a loving caregiver to so many people around her.  She spent all her working years in the school system helping handicapped and special needs children.

She was always such a strong, hardworking, and faithful woman who showed her children, as well as so many others, the love of Christ.  She was a deaconess in her church, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years.  She knew firsthand what true faith was and how to live it!    Many people will always remember her great stories and examples of walking by faith, not by sight (2 Cor 5:7).

Her love for and pride in her 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 13  great grandchildren was always very evident, and she will be remembered and missed by all.

Mildred was proceeded in death by her parents, Roy and Dorothy Bibbey, both husbands, Tom Chandler and Ralph Cayford, two sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Irene and LeRoy Barton, and Veleta and Dick Mason and her oldest daughter, Diana Williamson.  She is survived by her children, Delaine McLafferty,  Curt (Karen) Chandler,  and Teresa (Monty) Mortensen and son-in-law, John Williamson.

Funeral services will be March 29th at 2 P.M. at the Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Bowman Funeral Home.

A private graveside is planned for March 29, 2021 at 2pm at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
