Mary A. Coon
December 14, 1934 – June 17, 2021
Mary A. Coon returned to her Heavenly Father on June 17, 2021. She was preceded in death by
LeRoy, her sweetheart and husband of 68 years. Their reunion is a joyful one.
Mary has been an incredible influence in her families’ lives. If you ever thought there were angels among us, Mary was one of them.
She always put God and family first. She was a fantastic cook and baker. If anyone came to visit Mary at her house, they would only be there for a short time before being offered food and snacks. She could feed an army in just one meal. Mary was also a wonderful seamstress and created amazing clothes and wedding dresses.
Mary’s determination helped start our Church of Christ local and was a motivator for building a chapel. Mary welcomed anyone into her home and was extremely charitable to those that stood in need.
Mary was a prime example of how to serve the Lord. Regardless of who you were or where you were at, if Mary was there in your presence, you were going to hear about the Lord. Mary loved going to church, as well as church reunions, camping, snowmobiling, four wheeling and going to their cabin. She showed her love to everyone, as well as having a love of animals and all God’s creations.
Mary is survived by her beloved family, children Stan, Debbie and Karen, along with their spouses Renee, Bob and Rich. Mary was also a fantastic grandmother of 8 and many great grandchildren.
Mary is the daughter of Peter Ward Zabriskie and Lula Marion Thornton-Zabriskie.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 3 p.m. at the Church of Christ, 2200 E. State Street, Eagle, ID.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
