Mark James Van Komen/Adalina “Addie” Lorraine Sterling Known to family as “Rabbit” passed away September 20th, 2021 in Boise Idaho at his home alone.
Born June 21, 1996 in Twin Falls Idaho to Jolene May and Shane Sterling. They grew up in Boise, attended Boise schools and graduated from Capital High School in 2013. Enrolled at BSU for 1.5 years, also was planning to attend CSI for the Fall 2021.
Addie’s first job was Wendy’s while in high school. Then was hired at Walgreens as a cashier that is when the transitioning of Mark started with a legal name change. He took his Mother’s Maiden Name as his last name. He was asked if he want to move to the Pharmacy, he enjoyed it so much. He studied and became a pharmacy technician. Mark enjoyed the work and became a senior technician made many good friends there. He moved to Fred Meyer Pharmacy pre covid, he was giving flu and covid shots during the height of quarantine. Mark Choose to leave Fred Meyer, going back to customer service and stocking shelves. Working 2 jobs and looking to change his path in life.
Mark enjoyed Family dinners and gatherings, his dogs Prophet and Reverend his tortoise Ash, friends hanging out and playing D & D, cooking, baking especially cheesecake, watching movies, listening to music, writing stories and journaling, learning other languages, painting and doing crafts, knitting and going for drives, getting tattoos
They had a big heart, great sense of humor and were loved by so many. Greatly missed, to know them was to love them!
Survived by: Mother Jolene May, stepfather Ron, father Shane Sterling, Brother Joshua Sterling, Brother Ethan Sterling and his wife Jessica Sterling 2 nieces Daphne and Charlotte Sterling 1 nephew Miles Sterling proceeded in death by: grandparents Bob and Delpha Van Komen, grandma Shirley Sterling, uncle Rob Van Komen and numerus great grandparents.
Big thank you to Kassidy, John, Charles, Molli, Closson, for everything you have helped the family with and being there for Mark in friendship.
Celebration of life will be November 6th, 2021 from 3 to 7 pm at the Hampton Inn & Suites 875 South Allen Street Meridian Idaho 83642.
In lieu of flowers the family will have a donation jar set for the Idaho Humane Society at the gathering (they helped with Marks Pets in a time of need) .
Casual wear event, please come share a story with us! Teal and Purple for Suicide Prevention will be present, although Mark’s favorite color was Black.
