In humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the passing of Marietta Marie Wroten on September 9, 2022. Beloved wife and best friend to Jon W. Wroten; devoted mother to Shanna M. Wroten-Tucker and Jon J. Wroten; and loving grandmother to Chase and Piper Tucker, she will remain in our hearts forever.
Marietta was born in Valentine, Nebraska on July 24, 1944. Her parents, William and Elsie Pharoah, moved their family to a large ranch in Ola, Idaho when she was very young. She was the youngest of five children, and dearly loved her parents and four older siblings (Lloyd, Robert, Marilyn and CoraAnn).
At the age of 22, Marietta married Jon Willy Wroten of Boise, Idaho. She lived a full life with her husband of 56 years and her two children. She had a long career at the telephone company and retired in management. Despite her success she always said the mailroom – where she started – was her favorite job.
As a young wife and mother, she enjoyed spending time camping with her family and friends in Cascade, Idaho. She had an extensive wardrobe of blue and orange clothing representing a strong love for Boise State University football. Saturday afternoons in the Fall were often filled with close friends, family, tailgate parties and football games.
She was strongly devoted to her family and was the first to host family events or to help anyone in need. She had a great many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a goddaughter, all whom she loved dearly.
She passed quietly after a 5-year battle with Alzheimer’s. She is survived by her husband, Jon; her two children, Shanna and Jon; her grandsons, Chase and Piper; and her sister, CoraAnn.
Services & Flowers:
She had an unwavering faith and loved the Lord and her Catholic faith deeply. Her final request was that the family pray a rosary for the repose of her soul upon her passing. Friends and family are invited to attend any or all of her memorial services on September 24th, 2022:

Her family intends to plant a hummingbird garden to honor her memory. In lieu of cut flowers, live flowering plants for this garden would be a wonderful way to help the family celebrate her memory.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord. And let perpetual Light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.
