Marie E. Clapsaddle
Marie Elizabeth Clapsaddle, 95, a resident of Garden City passed away February 27, 2023 at her home.
Marie was born on February 20, 1928 to Leonard and Mabel Edmundson in Boise, Idaho.
Grandma loved her family dearly and would tell you all about how “the boys” were doing in every conversation. She loved gardening, her rose bushes, hymns and reading from the Bible. In her working years she “fed the monsters” as a manager for junior high school cafeterias.
Grandma was an excellent cook which her family attempts to recreate her recipes today, but never quite as good as Grandmas. In retirement she and Grandpa traveled, from Alaskan white water rafting trips to cruises through Hawaii and the Panama Canal.
She strived to instill great values into her family and was a strong woman of faith. Listening to hymns daily and her Sunday morning sermons made her smile. We know that she was welcomed home to be reunited with her family and Jesus, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant!”
Marie is survived by her granddaughter Carlyn Sanchez, great grandson Isaiah Sanchez and Serafin Sanchez Garcia of Washington, grandson Nicholas Clapsaddle, great grandsons Josiah and Jacob Clapsaddle of Boise, niece Charlette Bouchard and great nephew Justin Alloway of Boise.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband Claude Clapsaddle and sons Mel Clapsaddle and “Chuck” Clapsaddle, her parents and sister, Shirley Holcomb.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, on Monday, March 6, 2023, at Bowman Funeral Parlor, 10254 W. Carlton Bay Dr. in Garden City. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Dry Creek Cemetery, 9600 Hill Rd. in Boise.
