Kristin Nicole Clovis
Kristin Nicole Clovis passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019 as a result of a cerebral aneurysm. Kristin (or Clover as her friends liked to call her), was born to David and Joanne Clovis October 20, 1987 and joined her brother Matthew (Matt) at their home in Boise. She lived her entire 32 years in Boise, except for the years spent in Moscow at the University of Idaho.
She graduated from Timberline High School in 2006. She was also a proud 4th generation Vandal, graduating from University of Idaho with a degree in accounting in 2010. While there, Kristin joined the Gamma Phi Beta sorority and made many lifelong friends.
Kristin had several “loves” in her life which included her immediate family, extended family, her dear friends, her dogs (especially Stanley), and her love of music, classic movies and TV shows. She did say at one point that she should have lived through the 60’s and 70’s before disco because she did love the music of that era. Kristin also had an artistic side; she loved drawing, poetry, photography, ceramics, cooking, and reading non-fiction.
An athlete from almost day 1, Kristin always enjoyed participating and watching sports. She competed in many sports through elementary, junior high and her high school years, but her favorite by far was softball—at which she really excelled. She was a player on the Boise Blast softball team between the ages of 11 to 16, during which time she played almost every position. She had an amazing throwing arm and she was good batter. She was fun to watch—but not so much if you were the other team. Her team was made up of strong competitors, and they won many tourneys including a national tourney in Springfield, Missouri—but more than that, they were friends and she loved being with them. She was a starter for 4 years for the Timberline Varsity softball team. One of her most notable feats was when she hit 3 homeruns with 8 RBI’s her senior year during the district championship game at Timberline High School which helped secure a berth to compete in state competition in 2006. She loved all of her coaches, teammates and the families that she traveled with. She was truly a member of a softball family.
Kristin started working for the College of Western Idaho 2011. The last 2 ½ years she worked as a Senior Reporting and Financial Analyst. She loved who she worked with and loved what she did. She called it “her dream job”. During her time at CWI, Kristin was named Employee of the Month twice and Employee of the Year once.
Kristin is survived by her parents Dave and Joanne, her brother Matt, and many aunts and uncles and her dog Harley. She is preceded in death by her beloved grandparents and her dog Stanley.
In lei of flowers, donations in Kristin’s memory may be made to the Kristin Clovis Gamma Phi Beta Memorial Fund. Gifts for this fund can be sent to the UI Foundation, 875 Perimeter Drive MS 3143 Moscow, ID 83844, or online at https://www.uidaho.edu/
Even though we are profoundly sad as a result of our loss of our beloved Kristin, we are finding peace in knowing that with her passing and through organ donation, she will go on to help many others. Our hope is that the recipients of these gifts feel as blessed to have a part of Kristin as we have been to be her family. She will live in our hearts forever.
We want to send a special thanks to St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center Emergency and Surgical ICU staff and the Pacific Northwest Transplant Bank for the wonderful care Kristin received. It meant so much to us during this very difficult time. For more information on organ donation, please go to: http://pntb.org/.
A celebration of life for Kristin will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 2pm at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 4848 N. Five Mile Road, Boise, Idaho–on the corner of McMillan and Five Mile.

January 6, 2020 at 10:09 pmTo Kristin’s Family – I am so very sorry for your loss. I have worked with Kristin for almost 7 years and in the last 3 got to know her very well as I took over her job so that she could move to finance and have her dream job. She is funny, patient and simply brilliant and I miss her everyday. Everything that I touch and work on she has created and it reminds me to be the best I can everyday. I am blessed and thankful that our paths crossed. She is truly an amazing soul.

January 6, 2020 at 11:03 pmKristin is missed so much in our offices. Her dedication and the joy she found in the work she did. We miss watching her glued to her computer screen, all the while tying her hair in a messy bun as she worked. And her precious smile. Our thoughts and love go out to her family always.
