Joyce Stubblefield Earl August 11, 1935 - November 14, 2022

Joyce Stubblefield Earl
August 11, 1935 – November 14, 2022

Joyce passed away peacefully on November 14, 2022 at the home of her youngest daughter where both daughters were by her side.  Joyce was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN, where she met her devoted husband James and enjoyed a loving marriage of 55 years.  She was a homemaker until she became a cosmetologist in 1975, a career she loved until she started losing her eyesight due to a rare eye disease, retinitis pigmentosa. Joyce enjoyed cooking, entertaining, exercise, sunbathing, dancing, RVing, traveling and most of all spending time with her family and friends. Joyce was a faithful and devoted Christian woman and a prayer warrior.

Joyce suffered from vascular dementia for the last year following a severe stroke, along with her other disabilities that she had endured for many years. She faced these struggles daily with strength, courage and a smile.

Joyce is preceded in death by her late husband James Earl and her brother Doyle Stubblefield. She is survived by her eldest daughter Peggy Williamson and her husband John Williamson and youngest daughter Janice Pace and her husband Alan Pace. She is also survived by two grandsons and five great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly and prayed for all the time.

We rejoice that Joyce is now present with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  It is a comfort and a blessing knowing she is now at peace.

There will be a service with viewing on November 28, 2022; 10am viewing, 11am service at Bowman Funeral Parlor.  Committal at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery will follow at 1pm.

Joyce was like a second Mom to me. When I visited, from San Diego, Joyce always welcomed me, asked about my family and encouraged me. Now I live in Boise area and was able to visit with Joyce a lot more and she loved it when I was able to bring my dog. Love by all and will be missed on earth but now celebrating life with Jesus. May Gods love, blessings, and light continue to shine through Joyce’s family on earth. Blessings abound.

I met Janice over 30 years ago and was fortunate enough to meet most of the family at that time. Joyce was always so kind to me and truly one of the most upbeat people you’d ever want to meet – even with all the medical challenges over the years. Truly a beautiful woman inside and out. Her kindness shines through in her daughters Janice and Peggy. Steve and I send our heartfelt condolences to the entire family.
