His father served in the Air Force. For that reason, Joseph, his sisters, and mother lived throughout the U.S., Guam, and the Philippines. Joseph also proudly served in the Air Force (Senior Airman) as a Medical Laboratory Specialist from 1975-1981. He attended Bible school for a year to study applying God’s Word in business. Joseph received bachelor’s degrees from City University in chemistry and environmental health. He was an entrepreneur beginning with running newspaper delivery and car wash businesses as a boy to multiple businesses throughout the rest of his life.
Joseph loved spending time with his family, cooking, and traveling. Once Joseph and the family were on the road, the trips were often extended to other locations on the spur of the moment. One summer turned into travels from coast to coast visiting family throughout the U.S.

November 17, 2021 at 10:43 amSharon – You, Joseph, and the children were such an important part of my life when we first moved to Boise. One of my favorite memories was when Joseph would get Joe dancing and singing in the office because they were playing “Getting Jiggy Wit It” FULL BLAST and all you and I could do was laugh and join in! You are such a dear family and my heart goes out to you, Joe, Zoe and the rest of your family. Love, Tawnya (Ward) Nyman

December 10, 2021 at 11:36 amWe are praying for you, all of the family and friends of Joseph. We remember him with love and appreciation for all the love, support, and devotion he brought to my sister, Sharon, and their children, Zoe and Joe, and to our whole family. Gratitude for his service to us and our nation. I wish I had been able to spend more time with him, as we were not able to live close by to Boise. Special condolences to Joseph’s parents, for the unexpected experience of a child passing on. “God be with you all till we meet again.” Love always, Linda (Bigelow) and Mike Hiett
