Joni Louise Lenhardt
The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away He gave us Joni to love, nourish, protect, and enjoy, which we were privileged to do for 58 years, then He called her home. The complications of diabetes finally took her mortal life while her beautiful sweet spirit remained intact through-out her many health trials.
Joni was born January 25, 1961 to a family who welcomed her, the fourth daughter, with open arms and hearts. She was a gentle, contented child as well as independent who always could do things “by myself.”
Joni was born in Boise and moved with her family to Eagle when she was 2 ½ years old. She always loved animals. She attended Eagle Elementary, Lowell Scott Middle School and graduated from Meridian High School in 1979.
She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and while not always active she always loved her Father in Heaven and knew He loved her.
She has 2 sons, Jeremy (Bear) and Jason (Racer), who are the loves of her life.
Joni had several “less fortunate” friends and she often expressed sadness that they did not have a loving home to grow up in as she did.
Joni is survived by her sons, her Mom , Janell Schwartz, her sisters Jana (Ron) Farnsworth, Janis Solders (Stan Jackson), Judy (Bob) Ricketts, her step sisters, Karren Webb, Sandee Baker, Judi (Charles) Cosgriff, Bobbie Junier, Debra (Brent) Drake and a step brother Jim (Martha) Schwartz, her uncles Leon and Bob Haney as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her Dad, Richard A. Lenhardt; her step dad, Jack W. Schwartz; her maternal and paternal grand parents, and an Uncle Vern Haney, and an Aunt Betty Pippitt.
Joni never complained about her illness, even when she went on dialysis and later lost her sight, she always had a positive attitude and put others at ease about her condition.
Joni will be forever missed and remembered as a pure soul without guile, and that’s what the Lord wants from all of us.
