Johnetta Lou Munkres was better known as Johnnie to her friends and family. She passed away on Wednesday, March 4th, 2020 in Boise, ID. She was born in Jackson, MI on October 8th, 1948 to Clara Corinne Harless and Eugene Emerson Johnson. Johnnie graduated high school in 1966 from McMinnville High School in Oregon. She resided in Portland before moving to San Diego county in 1986. She worked at Alvarado Parkway Institute for 30 years, retiring from the position of Medical Records Director in 2018. She then moved to Boise.
Johnnie had many hobbies such as sewing and crafts. She was also an avid volunteer for community causes. She was enjoying retirement and loving life in Boise, close to her daughter and grandchildren. Johnnie was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and her spouse, Tanya Gray had been together for 33 years.
She is survived by her spouse, daughter Trisha Deann Adams, son Thomas Ross Munkres, granddaughters Kelsey Sorrell and Courtney Ann Adams, grandson Conner James Sorrell, great granddaughter Hadley Morgan, siblings Eugene “Kim” Emerson McCarty, Preston “Tony” Earl McCarty, Merle “Mike” Wayne McCarty, Jacqueline “Jackie” Lee Stouffer, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Tracy Alan McCarty, Lyle “Rick” Eric Johnson, Paul “Pat” Duane Johnson, and her son, James “Jamie” Marion Fergus.
A viewing will be held at Bowman Funeral Parlor in Garden City, ID – on Thursday, March 12th, 2020 at 10 A.M.
