Jarice Stone Halsted May 15, 1948 - November 22, 2020

Jarice Stone Halsted passed away November 22, 2020, at Saint Alphonsus Reginal Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. She was blessed with loving family and many friends.

Jarice was born May 15, 1948 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Jack Anthony and Beatrice Stone. She was the third of 6 daughters. Her parents created a very special name by combining their names, which reminded her that her parents were always a part of her.

She grew up and attended schools in St. Anthony, Idaho. Shortly after graduating from South Fremont High School, she married Billie R Carlson of Parker Idaho and soon after on December 1, 1967, welcomed a precious son Stacey Stone Carlson into their family.

Being the very strong woman that she was, she packed up her son and moved to Boise, Idaho, in 1968 to live with her sister-in-law while Bill was deployed in Vietnam. They welcomed their daughter Debbie Monne’k into their family on November 23, 1970. Jarice and Bill divorced in 1985.

Jarice later married Gordon Neal Halsted on May 23, 1986 with her brother-in-law Ray Loveland officiating the ceremony; sisters Jacque singing and Luciel playing the piano, she was so happy to have her sisters bringing beautiful music to this special day.

She and Gordon loved to go on adventures together, they enjoyed their early years snowmobiling, skiing. They also liked traveling to the Oregon Coast, and Victoria British Columbia.

Jarice was a social butterfly making friends wherever she went. She would often befriend neighbors building lifelong relationships with them. She and LaDene Morrison-Hubble were once neighbors who became the best of friends. They have shared many happy memories together for nearly 50 years.

In her later years you could always find her in her flower gardens. As soon as spring arrived she would be the first one in the neighborhood out tending to her gardens. She loved being in the dirt trimming, weeding and making her home welcoming to all those who came. She appreciated those who would stop to visit as they walked by. In the colder months she would spend hours working on her puzzles or reading books. She loved to share her puzzles and books with her daughter, sisters and friends. She loved with a passion wanting nothing but the best for those she loved and cared about. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jarice is survived by her Husband of 34 years, Gordon N Halsted of Boise, her two children, Stacey (Deonna) Carlson of Meridian, Debbie (Donny) Porter of Boise, Step-son’s, Mathew (Laura) Halsted of Boise, Richard J Halsted of Bainbridge Island, WA, seven grandchildren, Michael Brent Carlson of Meridian, Amanda Stacey Carlson of Boise, Hollie Danielle (Myles) Lytle of Marsing Idaho, Dillon Lee Porter of Boise, Derick Dale Porter of Boise, Drew B (Sara) Porter of Boise and Ciera Melchior, six greatgrandchildren, five sisters, Mae Luciel Hixon of Boise, Jacquelyn (Ray) Loveland of Rexberg, Lesli Beatrice (Steve) Mortensen of Idaho Falls, Stephanie (Allan) Packer of Queen Creek AZ, and Celinda (Jeff) Winters of Meridian and many wonderful nieces and nephews who she adored and enjoyed watching their lives and adventures from afar.

Jarice was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Anthony Stone and Beatrice Stone; and a Nephew, Jack D Winters.
