Heather Louise Newcomb-Salisbury July 2, 1973 - March 8, 2020

Heather Louise Newcomb-Salisbury, age 46, a resident of Boise, passed away March 8, 2020. Heather was born July 2, 1973 in Bremerhaven, Germany to Debra L. (Day) and Bert H. Salisbury.

Heather started her schooling in Cottonwood, Idaho. She attended Taft Elementary in Boise, Basin Elementary in Idaho City, Fairmont Jr. High and graduated from Capital High in Boise. She took classes at BSU where she was a member of a sorority and active in the LDS institute and choir.

Heather lived in Germany, northern Idaho, Wyoming and Salt Lake City, Utah. But most of her life was spent in what she called ‘home’; Boise, Idaho.
Heather’s first job while in high school was at Delsa’s Ice Cream. She worked in retail, a deli, childcare and CATH Lab at St. Luke’s before finding her career of a medical coder.

Her hobbies were reading and MUSIC. She was an accomplished vocalist, loved to perform and listen to all genres of music, and attend concerts.
Heather’s interests were definitely her family and friends. She was extremely loyal, supportive and an advocate for all their causes. In all that Heather thought, spoke and did, her #1 priority was ‘her boy’ Hudson.
Heather belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held just about every music calling possible and loved working in the primary. She loved the temple and her Savior, Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her precious son, Hudson Leslie Newcomb, her parents, Amy Salisbury (sister) and Camron Salisbury (brother) and his wife, Makenna, her beloved nephews and nieces: Xion Salisbury, Daxtin and Kilie Salisbury, Scarlett and Rhett Salisbury and her sweet ‘Nan’; Marjorie Day.
She was preceded in death by her cherished brother, BJ (Bert Jacob Salisbury) and her mentor and grandfather, ‘Papa’, Leslie H. Day, Jr.
A graveside service for Heather will be held on March 20, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Dry Creek Cemetery located at 9600 Hill Road Boise, Idaho 83714.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in her memory to chairthehope.org or the Lupus Foundation for Research. Chairthehope is Heather’s high school friend who provides wheelchairs all over the world.

    Heather,
I wish I had one more chance to see you in my clinic—your smile, your stubbornness, your determination, and your love of music. I wish we had gotten to see a U2 concert together. I know that your suffering has ended. The strong and enduring impression you have left on me is that of a woman who loved the people around her and fiercely loved, supported, and advocated for her son. The world has lost something beautiful in your passing. I will miss you, Heather.

Heather was my bridesmaid, my sorority sister, my cheerleader and just happened to set me up with my now husband. I looked for pictures with her. That woman was so good at hiding from the camera and pushing me in the spotlight instead. She was a true and extremely loyal friend. Heaven gained a beautiful alto for its angelic choirs. Heather had great faith. I’m sure she has been welcomed home by a loving Heavenly Father.
