Gerri E. Foust, 79, of Meridian Idaho passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 29 at her home surrounded by her family.
Gerri was born in Milford Connecticut on December 19, 1940 to Rosemary and Morton Ellsworth. She grew up with her 5 brothers and sisters, just half a block from the Long Island Sound. She spent a lot of time on those beaches and her love for the ocean never faded. Her favorite vacation was to pack up the RV and drive the coastline of California and Oregon.
Gerri met the love of her life, Edward Foust, at a military officer’s dance and the two were inseparable. They were married on March 5, 1960 and the two set out on the first of many adventures
together, from Okinawa, Japan to Heidelberg, Germany. But, wherever they landed, she always made the house a home for her family and she always found a place to garden. Gerri always loved working in her yard and could be found there all year round. Rain or shine, Gerri was in her glory working amongst the shrubs, flowers, bees and weeds. Gardening was her therapy and her yard was her sanctuary.
She was a devoted wife, supportive mother, beloved grandmother and great grandmother and will dearly be missed by all who loved her. Gerri is survived by her three children Lisa (Shawn), Eddie (Rosemary) and Mark (Matt); eight grandchildren Matthew,
Michael, Angela, Michael, Jonathan, Jason, Derek and Austin; 10 great grandchildren; her brother Norman, sister Pat, sister Jackie, sister Deanie and brother John; and close friends Donn and Verlene.
A special thank you to the wonderful staff at All Care Hospice for all of your kindness, care and compassion. Tara, Donna, Suzi, Amy, Brandy and Elena- you were her hospice angels.
A committal service will be held, 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 Old Horseshoe Bend Rd., Boise.
