Delora Fay Cantrell, aka “Nanny” was born on April 7, 1932 in Sperry, OK to Vina and Everette De Armon
Delora was proud to learn late in life that she was a descendant of a patriot of the American Revolution and eligible to join Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved music and the arts and shared this love with all whose lives she touched.
Nanny was a woman of great resilience, spirit, humor and kindness. She led by example and took no excuses. She inspired countless women to work hard and develop independence, to be responsible and put family first. She never used the word femenist but embodied all of the characteristics of one and looked fabulous while doing so.
Nanny raised and provided for 3 daughters and helped raise all of her grandchildren. She was surrounded by these loved ones at her home in Middleton, ID as she peacefully departed this life to be with her family in heaven on July 26, 2021.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories: daughters Renee Pickett, Valerie Cantrell and Sandra Balance; sister Beverly Bass; 5 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
