David “Dave” L. Stevens of Boise, peacefully passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 with his wife and daughter at his side. Dave was born in Boise on February 25, 1941 to Fred and Nettie Stevens. He was the youngest of a large family of six children.
In February 1958, Dave joined the United States Army Reserves where he served throughout the United States until 1961 with his fondest memories and stories from his time at Fort Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska; he was discharged in 1964. He met Janice Moore in 1961 and they were married in December 1962, Their union of almost 58 years took them on many adventures and their only daughter, Sandy (Tom) into the family. He had two grandson’s, Justin and Kyle Stern, that meant the world to him and he loved so deeply.
Dave will always be remembered as funny, (he was always trying to make a joke), he loved music and the outdoors. Fishing, boating, riding a motorcycle, spending time in the mountains and his sense of adventure lives on with his family. He also loved watching football and baseball especially his beloved Boise State Broncos, Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks.
The family extends deep gratitude and sincere appreciation to all the staff at St. Luke’s Hospice especially: Amanda, Anna, Cara, Leslie, Norm and Shelley. A Memorial Service for family and friends will be at the Idaho Veterans Cemetery with military honors and flag presentation on Monday, October 19 at 2:00 pm.
