Daisy Gable, 79 years old, passed away peacefully on Sunday Nov. 8, 2020, with her family by her side. 12-31-1940 to 11-8-2020.
Daisy, sometimes called “Sarge” by her 8 kids was an expert in crafts, embroidery, knitting and crochet, and always had a bag of yarn or thread by her side and a bowl of chocolate, usually M&M’s. She was such an expert, she could talk, watch TV and never miss a stitch! Daisy was Mom to a large, blended family (The Gable’s) who somehow survived with 10 people in the house at the same time, 6 of them teenagers!
Dinnertime was always interesting, every night you would hear Daisy calling “Doug, Dawn, Danny, Lori, Dianna, Linda, Steven, Richard, dinner” and soon you would see the Gable kids coming home from 5 different directions. And dinner was always “Turkeys Eyebrows on Toast” according to Dad.
Daisy raised her family in Santa Clara and there she held a number of jobs in various industries including working in HR at Amdahl Corporation. She moved to Pioneer, CA with her husband Dick in 1991 after Dick retired in 1990. They enjoyed living in the mountains and even though she complained, we know she secretly loved the snow. She was loved and will be missed by all.
Daisy is survived by 6 children; Steven, Linda, Dianna, Lori, Dawn, and Douglas. She was recently preceded in death by her husband Richard (Oct 10, 20) as well as 2 sons, Richard Jr., and Daniel and her grandson, Jesse Jay. Daisy has 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in December, the date is TBD.
RIP Mom & Dad
