Cynthia (Cindy) Marie Knudsen July 22, 1955 - April 7, 2020

Cynthia Marie Knudsen, 64, of Boise, ID passed away from natural causes on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at St Luke’s. Cindy was born to John and Ruth Marquez in Nampa, Idaho. She grew up in Nampa, graduating from Nampa High. She received a scholarship to the University of Idaho. In her second year, her father passed away and she came home to help her mother. On May 31, 1979 she married Daniel L. Knudsen at St John’s Cathedral in Boise. Cindy used to joke that she had a big wedding, not by choice, but so that both families could attend. She is the baby of 13 kids and Dan is from a family of 10. They raised two sons in Boise, Andrew and Patrick. Cindy worked for HP for over 20 years where she made many good friends. Cindy was a great cook who loved to cook for her family and friends. She especially liked to cook with her 2 grandkids, Daniel and Sloan. Daniel used to tell her they were great cookers and should go on the show Chopped. Cindy was passionate about crafting and did many different types. She really enjoyed figuring out how to make something. Once she did, it was time to learn how to make something else. Family was very important to Cindy. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt, sister and sister-in-law. Cindy is preceded in death by her parents John and Ruth Marquez; brother Robert Marquez; sisters Virginia Chavez, Margret Sevy, Dee Marquez; father and mother-in-law Andrew and Lura Knudsen; brother and sister-in-law Bill and Nancy Knudsen. Cindy is survived by her husband Dan Knudsen; sons Andrew (Catalina) Knudsen and Patrick Knudsen; brothers John (Diane) Marquez, Tony Marquez; sisters Gloria (Jesse) Santos, Josie Marquez, Mary Ann (Dave) McNeil, Linda (Wayne) Gibbs, Betty (Mark) Johnson, Sandy (Dan) Villines; brother- in- laws Jim (Carolyn) Knudsen, Randy (Carol) Knudsen; sister-in-law’s Andrea (Dale) Walker, Kris (Derrell) Hart, Kathy (Terry) Hutton, Debbie Knudsen, Renee (Jeff) Munn, Cindi Brennan; her beloved grandkids Daniel Knudsen (5), Sloan Knudsen (3) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Due to the Covid-19 virus outbreak the family has decided to have celebration of life at a later date, hopefully this summer.

I will truly miss her skills at crafting. My favorite story is when she taught us how to make Christmas wreath, it took so long she said she would make all the bows cause we were hard to teach, and she was out of wine. She was a beautiful soul. God’s got a good angel by his side.

Dan, Andrew, and Patrick – I’m so very sorry for your loss. I was shocked to hear Cindy had passed. Though it had been some time since we’d seen each other, I remember fondly our days working together at IHFA. We had a lot of laughs. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

I met Cindy many years ago at HP, and I truly enjoyed our periodic chats in the cafeteria or aisle. She was a delightful person and clearly loved her family tremendously. I am so sad to hear of her passing and feel blessed to have known her. She was a genuinely amazing lady!!
