Born on April 28, 1955 in Boise, Idaho, Connie Marie Brain brought a light to the world that friends and family will long remember as bright and beautiful. Educated in Boise and Cincinnati, Ohio schools, her abilities shone at a young age. A lifelong baseball and music fan, she played softball and performed playing guitar and fiddle while singing in a group with her aunt and uncle, Ginger and Duane Smith.
Raised by her parents in Garden City in the house her father built and surrounded by the artwork of her mother, she inherited their creativity. While her talents, including crafting, gardening, and cooking, impressed all whom she met, it is her kindness, generosity and giving nature that garnered her the love of many. When she was not planning parties as the “room mother” for her son’s classes, she cooked for family reunions and weddings, and spent countless hours caring for family and loved ones. In addition, her love of animals grew from a young age as she contributed to animal charities and was never without multiple pets.
Connie passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer and multiple sclerosis.
She is survived by her son, Jacey Brain, and brothers Raymond and wife Kathy Brain, Robert and wife Debbie Brain, and Rick Brain. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Pauline Marie Milstead and Charles “Chuck” Brain, and aunts Irene Mitchell and Ginger Smith.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, at Church of Christ Treasure Valley Local, 2200 East State Street in Eagle.
