Colin Barker died on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021. He was twenty years old.
Colin was born in Portland, Oregon on December 6th, 2000. He moved to Eagle, Idaho with his father, mother, twin sister, and younger brother where he has resided since 2005. Colin graduated with honors from Eagle High School. He was a junior at Boise State University where he was majoring in Marketing.
Colin had a passion for sports and was a huge San Francisco 49ers, Portland Trailblazers, and Boise State Broncos fan. When he wasn’t rooting for his favorite teams, you’d find him at the gym lifting weights, listening to music, watching The Office, spending time with his girlfriend and friends, boating with his family at Lucky Peak, or cuddling with his cat, Milo.
Colin was born with a rare genetic growth disorder called Russell Silver Syndrome. He overcame many health challenges in his life with strength, grace, and resilience.
Colin’s contagious smile and infectious laugh will be missed by many. He was a loving son and brother, and a loyal friend. He taught all of us how to persevere through obstacles with a positive attitude. His light will continue to shine through treasured memories.
Colin is survived by his father and mother, Jonathan and Emily Barker, his twin sister, Hayden Barker, and his brother, Grant Barker. They ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the MAGIC Foundation in Colin’s honor — www.magicfoundation.org.
A visitation will be held 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Thursday, June 10, 2021, Bowman Funeral Parlor, 10254 W. Carlton Bay Dr., Garden City.

We are heartbroken to learn of Colin’s passing. The memory of our kids growing up together at Galileo will always be special to us and our kids. We remember Colin as a kind and shy boy who was an amazing athlete. He never let his condition stop him from living his life to the fullest. You are a wonderful family and our thoughts are with you during this immensely difficult time.

June 13, 2021 at 9:22 amDear Baker Family,
My son Peyton was Colin’s roommate. We have all been so shocked and saddened to learn of Colin’s passing. We wish your family peace and comfort as you deal with the immense grief. Words simply can not express how sorry we are. While I did not meet Colin, Peyton spoke highly of him, and really enjoyed living together this last year. He will be dearly missed. My heart goes out to you.
