Claude Allen Stewart

Claude Allen Stewart was born on 3/8/39 at Loma Linda, CA. On the morning of 1/5/23 at age 83, our precious father, grandfather, brother and husband went to be with His Lord and Savior Jesus after a short illness. Our hearts are heavy but we know that he is in a better place and free of the pain and limitations that he had here on this earth.

Allen preceded his loving wife of 58 years, Peggy, and his children, Cindy Gleason (Samuel), Greg Stewart (Ann), and Brian Stewart along with grandchildren Heather Zamperini (Daniel) , Kaitlin Gleason, and Jeffrey Stewart. He is also survived by his younger brother Darrell Stewart (Rochelle) and great-grandchildren Tahlia and Zane and many nieces and nephews.

Allen graduated from Colton High School in 1958 and soon after served 3 years in the US Navy aboard the U.S.S. Preston with assignments in San Diego, Long Beach, and San Francisco. In 1964 he started work with Pacific Bell and he and Peggy were married. Boise became their home in 1970 where they filled their acre with beautiful gardens.

Al, as he was known by friends and family, was a renaissance man who loved inventing, philosophy, gardening, going for coffee, hunting for fossils, doing science projects with grandchildren, singing with the Boise Chordsmen, and was president of the Boise Astronomical Society in the 90’s. Al loved art and each family member has at least one of his beautiful paintings to treasure. He will be missed, however everyone who knew him is so grateful for the moments shared. Like a dear friend said, “He is walking in the beautiful gardens of Heaven.”

Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
