Chester Harvey Spear, 83, passed away November 8th, 2020 in Boise, Idaho from complications of Covid19. He was born August 22, 1937 in Willow Springs, Illinois to Mervelle and Ellen Spear. Chester served in the United States Navy from 1956-1961. Chester spent some years in the Chicago area where he became a lifelong Cubs fan. He later moved to Idaho and in 1983 he married Diana Cleaver and they made their home on a small farm out of Middleton, Idaho in the Sand Hollow area for 31 years. Chester was a carpenter by trade and framed homes for 50 years. Upon retirement, Chester continued his love for woodworking in his dream shop that he built on his property in Sand Hollow. He loved being outside and helping family, friends, and neighbors with their building projects. Chester also hosted an annual Spear BBQ for nearly 25 years inviting family, friends and neighbors to enjoy his secret family recipe BBQ ribs. Chester is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons and 1 grandson, and is survived by wife Diana Spear, and 6 step children and spouses, Dan & Nicole McBee of Nampa, ID; Roxanne Bennett of Harrisburg, OR; Chris Cleaver of Arkansas; Rene & Greg Gunderson of Caldwell, ID; Rebecca & Joe Shifflett of Wisconsin; and Ramona & Allan Bahem of Homedale, ID; 27 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
