Cheryl Ann Tweedie September 28, 1955 - June 8, 2022

Cheryl Ann Tweedie

On Wednesday June 8, 2022, the world lost a truly beautiful soul.  On Tuesday, June 7, 2022, Cheryl Ann Tweedie of Meridian was unexpectedly rushed to the emergency room at St. Luke’s Meridian, and then, even after she was moved to the I.C.U., and after putting up a fierce fight for her life for the next 24 hours, she sadly passed away at the age of 66.  A combination of several factors health-wise were at play, as to why she isn’t with us anymore.  Her loving family, who she leaves behind, truly believe that she’s in a better place now, and it gives them peace to know that she’s not suffering from her day-to-day health struggles anymore.

Cheryl Tweedie is survived by her husband, 2 sons, a daughter-in-law, 2 granddaughters, her favorite cousin, numerous nieces and nephews, a best friend, an extensive extended family and other close friends, old and new…She is preceded in death by her mother, father, sister, 2 brothers-in-law and others in the extended family.

Cheryl was born into this world on a beautiful September day in Long Beach, California in 1955 and was soon after adopted by her parents, Jack and Helen Blonk…Jack and Helen were so excited to bring her home to Compton, so she could meet her big sister Linda, and to complete their family!  Cheryl was a happy baby girl and toddler and then throughout childhood, attending private Christian schools, the two sisters were quite astute with their studies and learning…As a kid growing up, Cheryl always loved the beaches of southern California, and along with the arts and crafts, was a lover of music and always enjoyed singing with her choir mates and spending time with friends…Her biblical studies were of the upmost importance, as she was a devout Christian student and a believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  She then graduated from high school in 1973…It was quickly apparent where she was headed next in life, because around this time she had met the love of her life, when she met Brad Tweedie at a church function and then nobody could keep them apart if they had tried!  In fact, they were so inseparable, they just had to get a job at the same company so they could see each other all of the time!  Over the next 3 years, the trajectory of their relationship became apparent, as one early spring day in 1976, Brad proposed marriage and she accepted…Soon after tying the knot that September, they happy couple were blessed with the arrival of a son, who they named Eric Matthew, in the early spring of 1977, and he was the light of Cheryl’s life…She was always so proud of Eric as he grew up, and he never felt anything but unconditional love from his mom…Four and a half years later, in the fall of 1981, one day before her 26th birthday, and after having moved her family to Boise, Idaho in April of 1979, Brad and Cheryl were blessed with the arrival of their second son Joshua Daniel.  Josh was the perfect addition to the family as his mom had always wanted 2 boys and 2 boys only to complete the family.  Cheryl was overjoyed to receive such a precious gift as her birthday present that year…The physical resemblances of Josh to his mom and Eric to his dad were always apparent as the boys grew up and Josh also felt nothing but that pure unconditional love his big brother felt…

Cheryl was very mechanically inclined and held numerous job positions using these skills during early adulthood and she was also very distinguished as a client relations specialist and customer service agent.  After 35 years of employment at Cable One, she retired from working, to focus on family and her beautiful granddaughters…Retirement was filled with the joy of being a proud “Nana” to Bentley and Breeya, and they were her absolute number 1 priority, as she loved them to the moon and back.

Cheryl was always such a Christmas buff.  Year after year and even through hard times, it never did matter about the finances and there could be no excuses, Brad and Cheryl always made sure their children and grandchildren had a ton of gifts under the tree on Christmas Day to bring joy to their children’s lives…She always did love to travel as well and numerous trips to the Oregon Coast were taken by her and Brad during their retirement years together…She will always be Brad’s first and only true love and she will always live on in the hearts of her family who honor her on this day and miss her very much…The lovely way in which she carried herself is a model for all who knew her, just to be a little better in life and to act with kindness and grace…She’s now reunited with the angels of her loved ones in Heaven.

Cheryl Tweedie is, a true angel.  Rest in peace dear mom.
