We regretfully announce the passing of Cheryl Ann Blevins, 61, of Garden City, ID. Her last moments were ushered peacefully by her children and loved ones, following a formidable battle with ALS.
Cheryl was born in LaJunta, CO on June 3, 1961 to her parents Shirley Jean Thomas and William McGown. Known from birth as a force to be reckoned with, she lived in Rocky Ford, CO and Cottage Grove, OR, creating memories with her siblings, Denise Daves, Shawnie Reames, Janie Crumpler, William McIntosh and Terry McIntosh, before establishing her forever home in beautiful Idaho where she loved to hike, hunt for rocks, and explore the history of the land around her, often spotted doing so in her white ‘SloRide’ limousine.
Cheryl was an incredibly talented artist whose many accomplishments stretch beyond the murals decorating historical Cottage Grove, through the highly regarded leather clothing business she built and ran within her community and far into the everyday pieces of her family’s life. Her talent and creativity aided in her constant determination to carry beauty into the broken, and allowed her to breathe new life into the most unexpected of scenarios.
Cheryl was survived by her daughters, Sherrie Vieira, Lori West, Jasmine Redlich and Jessica Wade as well as her grandchildren, Bently, Julia, Frances, Piper, Shirley, June, Stanley, Myla and Rueger. Her devotion to uplifting and contributing to people from all walks of life has built a vast network of friends and chosen family that will miss her courage, large heart and generosity greatly.
Preceded in death by her mother Shirley, brothers Terry and Billy, grandmother Zella and many friends, her loved ones will find comfort knowing she has been greeted warmly on the other side, and can once again breathe easy.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday July 8, 2022 at Bowman Funeral Home of Garden City. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation in their mother’s name to the ALS foundation.

June 29, 2022 at 10:37 pmYou read Fun with Dick and Jane to me when I was four. I was afraid to go to kindergarten by myself and you came with me. We played in the creek and rode horses with Karen. The Daredevil Club nearly got us killed and in hot water with the Ronan boys. We rode bikes to pick beans for the summer. We shared the same bedroom most of our lives. I cleaned the kitchen and you cleaned the bathroom as part of our chores. There is not a childhood memory that doesn’t have you in it. I do and always will miss you. I love you sister. Saving our memories for your kids and grandkids.

July 1, 2022 at 12:28 pmWe remember you always at Church, getting there well before opening service, setting up coffee and donuts. You also stayed after services to help clean up. You were active in supporting many local charities and often delivered food and clothing to others in need.
We have fond memories of you and the family.
Rest in sweet peace dear one. 🌹🙏❤️
