Charlotte Davis May 1, 1940 - May 12, 2020

Charlotte (Lottie) Johanna Davis, ascended to heaven on May 12, 2020. Charlotte was born on May 1, 1940 in Voorburg, Holland; the youngest daughter of Johannes and Charlotte Van Kesteren. Charlotte’s father was working in the Dutch underground and was captured, put in isolation, and died just before the end of World War II. Charlotte’s mother remarried when she was ten years old. Her family emigrated to the United States in 1957. Charlotte learned English as a second language after arriving in the United States.

As a teenager in Holland, Charlotte loved bike riding, roller skating, and ice skating on the ponds. A favorite childhood memory was walking barefoot on the beach and picking up shells.

Charlotte was raised in a Christian home and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior on February 12, 1984. She trained to be a counselor at Los Gatos Christian Church and was involved in peer counseling. Charlotte lead Sunday school classes and support groups at the church. She was a faithful prayer warrior. Charlotte loved playing the piano and had a beautiful singing voice. One of her greatest joys was praising the Lord in song.

Charlotte was a devoted mother who actively participated in her children’s development at home, church, and school. She was a Girl Scout leader and taught piano to her children and other students. She always made her children feel special and loved.

Charlotte cherished spending time with her three grandchildren, Matt, Vince, and Katie. Some of their favorite activities together included flying kites, playing games, and going to the park.

Charlotte worked as an Administrative Assistant at Hewlett Packard for over fifteen years. She retired early to provide full-time care for her mother.

Survivors include her daughter, Charlene Davis and son John Davis (Patty); brothers Dolf Van Kesteren (Judy) and Johan Van Kesteren (Joni). She was preceded in death by her sister, Aatie Aikman.

Charlotte’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Joe, Josi, and Bridget, from Aspen Hospice, who provided excellent care and support.

Charlotte’s Life Verse was Matthew 6:33; But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
