Celebrating the Life of Carolyn “Fay” Garrett

Fay was born n Bellville, Texas on April 29, 1938, the only daughter of Ruby and Steve Perry.  After graduating from Jeff Davis High School, she worked at Foley’s Department Store in downtown Houston.  She attended Westview Baptist Church where she met her future husband, Ken Garrett.

Fay and Ken married January 25, 1964 and recently celebrated 59 years of marriage.  Their example setting relationship exemplifies their love of Christ, one another and family.

Fay spent her life loving God.  She manifested this love by supporting her husband, raising her children and caring for the household.  After her children were grown, she would go on to greatly contribute to the raising of two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Fay derived great enjoyment from family gatherings, mystery novels and shows, along with shopping and doing for others.  She delighted in planning for family gatherings; sharing stories and laughing until she was in tears.  Many evenings were spent with a mystery novel in hand or watching a British detective show.  But her greatest joy was providing for others.  Fay’s generous spirit was highlighted each and every shopping trip where the emphasis was placed on what others needed, wanted or could be surprised with.

Fay will be remembered as a Godly, good natured woman who loved her family.  She is survived by: Her husband Ken, her children Susan (Barney) and Mark (Maggie), her grandchildren Brittany, Courtney (Gabe) and David, her great-grandchildren Kira, Layla, Paul and William.

You will be missed until we meet again in Heaven.
