Carla D. Summer October 14, 1958 - November 9, 2020

Carla Doreen Beatle Summer

Early Monday morning the light went out of the brightest star in our lives.  Carla was born October 14, 1958 in Savannah, New York to Carlton Beatle and Linda McGovern Beatle.  She graduated from Clyde Savannah High School in 1976.

Carla married Michael Castle and in 1980 they welcomed Michael the 2nd; in 1981 Anthony joined the family, and in 1983 Jeremy rounded out the circle.  They later moved to Sanford, Florida where Carla shared her love of the ocean and sea food with her boys. In 1990 Carla and the boys moved with friends to some foreign place called Idaho.

Once they were settled in Idaho, Carla attended the YWCA (now the WCA). She was able to improve her job skills and developed a hunger to learn more. She went on to BSU’s workforce training program where she thrived. In fact, she spent an additional three months there teaching others the things that she had learned.  Carla worked for Ida-Tran Freight Systems for 8 years, leaving in 2000 to work for Albertsons.  Carla left Albertsons in 2008 to care for her beloved mother-in-law, Nevelyn. They shared a special bond and a special love for Dave.

On July 13, 2013 Carla married the love of her life, Dave Summer.  Carla loved deeply, and unconditionally; and didn’t mind calling BS when she saw it. Carla will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but especially by her boys.

Carla is survived by her husband Dave, her sons Michael, Anthony, and Jeremy and four grandchildren, Sister Paula Fleenor & Brother Steve Beadle and many dear friends. In lieu of flowers the family asks you to remember Carla by donating to St. Luke’s Cancer Institute, 100 E Idaho St, Boise, Idaho 83712.

A private funeral service will be held on November 19, 2020 at 2:00 pm. To watch the the livestream https://www.bowmanfuneral.com/livestream/    to obtain the password to watch the service please call 208-853-3131
