Cari Elaine Burnett, 61, formerly of Rancho Palos Verdes, beloved wife, mother and grandmother unexpectedly passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2020 in Eagle, Idaho.
Cari was born August 25, 1959 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Robert Carroll Reed and Cynthia Reed. She was one of two children. She married her high school sweetheart, Ian Burnett. She attended Loyola Marymount University where she graduated with a BA in Business Management.
Cari went on to run the family contracting business for many years until they retired and moved to Idaho. She was involved with the Torrance Fire Fighters Wives Association. She was proud of the many years of showcasing her creativity and remarkable decorating skills at the Festival of the Trees. For eight years she was an active member of Las Ninas de Las Madrecitas charitable organization with her two daughters. Family always came first for Cari and most of all she was proud of her two daughters and two granddaughters.
Cari was kind and caring. She was brave, courageous, resilient and strong. She never judged anyone and was always ready to help. She was there to provide comfort to those who needed it even when they didn’t know it. These qualities and her quiet unassuming strength will be cherished by her family and passed down through the generations.
Survivors include: her mother, Cynthia Reed; husband of 40 years, Ian; daughters, Krystal Venkataraman and husband, Suvir Venkataraman and Stephanie Arredondo and husband, Andy Arredondo; brother, Larry Reed; grandchildren Arya Venkataraman and Riley Arredondo.
Services will be pending until Spring with the hope the pandemic has passed. The family suggests memorials be to the American Heart Association and the National Celiac Association.
