Amelia Gillis October 24, 1932 - May 21, 2019

Our precious Amelia Gillis returned to her Heavenly Father on May 21st, 2019, surrounded by her family.

Amelia had many blessings in her life, but nothing was greater to her than her family. Amelia and her husband George brought three wonderful children into this world; Janet Russell, Dan Gillis, and Bert Gillis. Each of her children gave her grandchildren and great grand-children and, she went out of her way to make sure each child was loved and knew how much they meant to her.

Amelia’s other passions were her decorations; coming to the Gillis home was truly an amazing experiences, with each holiday a ‘spectacular’. Amelia had the greenest of thumbs; her yard was her pride and joy, she would spend numerous hours working in her yard, even in her last months. Additionally, Amelia was a talented seamstress, when she was not in her yard she was at her sewing machine, making baby blankets for her humanitarian project, or clothes for her grand-children. Amelia could always be heard whistling while she worked, which was a talent she taught each of her grand-children.

There were many qualities that made Amelia Gillis so special, among those her family will miss her constant cheerfulness, loving nature, humility, big hugs, bread and cookies, and never missed a game of cards in Saturday night!

Amelia not only loved her immediate family, but also all those she met and welcomed into her life. It is obvious that she reached out and touched many lives with her love for life and her Father in Heaven, and Jesus Christ our Savior.

It is a comfort for her family and friends that she is now with her loving husband, George; watching over all of us.
